Helpful publication

BPS has published its annual Introducing the Boston Public Schools guide. I'm linking to the PDF, but you should be able to get a hard copy at school previews and at the West Zone Family Resource Center. It has a quick rundown of all the schools in the zone, how to apply for schools, and a handy table on page 19 showing who has after-school programs, start/end times, uniform policy, advanced work, etc.

Hi there, I have met you on a couple school tours last year. My live in Roslindale too and my son is actually very happy at the Mendell in JP/Roxbury. I didn't see it on your list of events on the side of your blog and I wanted to make sure you have the Open House dates.

I could go on about what a pleasant surprise the school is but I won't incase it's all redundant. If you'd like to hear more from me, though, I am happy to share.

Thanks, Kristin. The Mendell is definitely on my list of schools to check out this year. I'm glad you're having such a positive experience.

I actually have the Mendell saved in my calendar. Bates happened to be before Mendell alphabetically so it showed up first.
